Questions schools ask us

What devices do we need?

Any laptop, desktop or tablet with a microphone and a modern browser. There's nothing to install — Snappy runs entirely on the web.

How do students log in without email addresses?

Each class has a code. Students sign in with the class code, their name, and a password their teacher sets — printable as credential cards for little hands.

What do teachers actually see?

Three things. A live roster — XP, streaks, words, reading speed in words per minute, missions completed, when each child last read, and how many words they need to revisit. A class Sound Map — every sound plotted by how well it's read, how recently it was practiced and which step of the ladder most of the class is on, with the student split behind each one. And a progress report for any child in one click: their own Sound Map, their reading speed over time, the words worth another go, and every sentence they've read.

Is my students' voice data recorded?

By default, no — speech is processed in the moment to recognize phonemes and isn't stored. If your school chooses, you can enable recording through a school-level consent control that you own and can turn off at any time.

Snappy is designed for ages 3–8 and spans the full systematic synthetic phonics journey — 66 levels from first letter sounds to suffixes and silent letters, with 782 decodable words.
